Do I need a Last.fm account to use V0?

Yes. V0 is built around Last.fm scrobble data, so a public Last.fm profile is required. You can browse other people's public profiles without signing in, but to see your own dashboard, post to The Wall, or generate stories you need to connect a Last.fm account.

Yes, the core experience is free. V0 is an independent project and we rely on the public Last.fm and Spotify APIs — there is no paywall on dashboards, stories, or The Wall.

How do I connect my Last.fm account?

Sign in from the top right and follow the Last.fm authorization flow. V0 only requests read access to your scrobbles — it can't post, modify, or delete anything on your Last.fm profile.

Why isn't my recent listening showing up?

V0 reads what Last.fm exposes via its API, so if a track hasn't scrobbled there yet, it won't appear here. Recent plays usually show up within a minute or two. If something has been missing for longer, check your Last.fm profile first — if it's missing there too, the scrobble never reached Last.fm.

Can I disconnect my Last.fm account?

Yes. Open the Command Center (⌘K / Ctrl+K), go to Settings → Integrations, and disconnect from there. You can also revoke V0's access entirely from your Last.fm account settings.

How does story generation work?

When you click Generate, V0 queues a job that builds a high-resolution SVG using your stats and artwork, then converts it to a PNG you can download or share. The first generation can take a few seconds while images warm up; subsequent generations are usually instant thanks to caching.

Why do some artist or track images take longer to load?

Last.fm no longer serves artist images, so V0 resolves artwork from Spotify the first time you see an artist, track, or album and caches the result. After the first lookup the image stays cached and loads instantly.

Yes. Once a story is ready you can download the PNG directly or use the share menu. The image is rendered client-side from the SVG, so the file you download is exactly what you see on screen.

All Wall posts are public by default — they're visible to anyone who visits V0, signed in or not. Don't share anything on The Wall that you wouldn't post on a public profile.

How do I delete a post from The Wall?

Wall posts are permanent and cannot be deleted. If you delete your account, your posts will remain on The Wall but will display as posted by an anonymized user instead of your profile.

What data does V0 store about me?

V0 stores your Last.fm username, a cached copy of recent scrobble data used to render dashboards, your Wall posts, and a small amount of preference data (appearance, notifications). We never receive your Last.fm password — authorization happens entirely through Last.fm.

How do I delete my account?

Account deletion is handled from the Privacy Notice request form at /privacy#requests. Sign in with Last.fm first to submit a verified request; username-only email requests are not processed until ownership is confirmed. Your profile and cached data will be removed after the retention window, but your Wall posts will remain anonymized.

V0's image cache occasionally holds onto an old or placeholder image. Open the Command Center → Settings → Appearance and use the cache reset option, then reload. Your profile image will be refetched from Last.fm and re-enhanced from Spotify if needed.

The dashboard is slow or not loading — what should I check?

Accepted Answer

First reload the page — most slow loads are caused by a stale tab. If it persists, check your internet connection and whether Last.fm itself is reachable, since V0 depends on Last.fm being online. If everything else works but V0 is still slow, let us know on Discord.
